Devenir un modèle
Every day I receive requests on how to becoming a modèle. Things like how to get started, finding and contacting a modèleing agency, and getting a first photo shoot.
Comment commencer:
Avant de commencer à faire quoi que ce soit, vous devez vous poser ces questions car elles vous guideront tout au long du processus.
- What do I want to get out of modèleing?
- What am I willing to put into becoming a modèle
- What kind of modèle do I want to be? Fashion, Runway, swimsuit, sport,etc.
- Dans quelle mesure suis-je flexible pour voyager et gagner du temps?
Once you evaluate these questions, There is two ways you can go. One is to contact a modèleing agency which I will explain below. The other method is to act like your own agency and create your own portfolio. This is easily done over the internet, now with several places in which you can post pictures, and information on yourself to attract talent scouts.
If you choose to go the traditional route and to work with a modèleing agency, It can be hard at times to know first of all how to find a good one, and what to look for in a modèleing agency. You can easily look up and find agencies in phone books or online,etc. Before you do any of that, I would recommend contacting anyone you know, that is a modèle, and finding out about some of the experiences that they have had with modèleing and general, and also specifically with different agencies in your area. Once you have a general idea of what the scene looks like, contact some of the agencies and set up an appointment to meet with them. Meeting with the agency can be the hardest and most nerve wrecking part of the whole experience. Be firm, and don’t allow the agency to take advantage of you!
Les choses à demander et à rechercher sont:
- What do they do for other modèles?
- Que peuvent-ils faire pour vous?
- Peuvent-ils répondre à vos besoins à titre d'exemple?
- L'agence a-t-elle des objectifs similaires à ceux que vous vous êtes fixés?
La dernière question Comment faire une première séance photo dépend de l'itinéraire que vous prenez. Si vous partez avec une agence, vous devrez vous arranger avec elle, prendre une photo et commencer à construire votre portefeuille. Si vous décidez d'y aller seul, vous devrez créer votre propre portefeuille. Soit en utilisant les photos que vous avez déjà, soit en contactant un photographe pour prendre une photo. Je recommanderais de faire appel à un photographe car il a l’air plus professionnel et sa qualité est bien meilleure qu’une simple photo de famille ou entre amis, etc.
