The maintenance of the concrete unit is very simple. This would include the following techniques:

Rewax periodically. Wax once within 2 months of installation and every 3 to 6 months after.

Make sure spills are wiped quickly. This will not guarantee stains. A mild soap without ammonia or other abrasive chemicals is recommended. Stone soap can be purchased for continuous surface conditioning.

Felt or rubber pads are recommended to go under objects placed on the surface. (Ex unglazed ceramic pots). This will help maintain the color of the concrete surface and reduce the risk of scratches.

Make sure a cutting board is used. Cutting to the surface can scratch it.

Note that the finish of some types of concrete art has natural cracks. This is not considered a factory defect, but rather a normal part of the texture. Keep this in mind when shopping for a concrete countertop, sink, or other concrete artwork.

An ivory balustrade added to a brick building would be very classy. In fact, concrete can be turned into a brick style for a natural style. It would also make a house very elegant.
