Save your hardwood floor from water damage

It is painfully inevitable. No matter how hard you try to protect your hardwood floor from stains and damage, at some point someone will spill something on the floor. When this happens, there is no reason to do ballistics.

If you have diligently checked the finish of your floor, then do not overflow with water or liquid, this should not be a problem, as long as you wipe the spill immediately. But if your flooring is diluted and the liquid has been there for a long time, you need to think about restoration strategies.

The number one enemy of the floor is water. The luster of your floor is at his mercy. You can easily remedy this by cleaning the affected area. In the worst case, water can seep into the wood and cause rot and deformation.

When wiping, use only soft, dry cloths. Coarse cleaning products will scratch the surface of the flooring and dilute the finish. If you are dealing with a puddle, start at the edges of the puddle and head to the middle.

Some people use steam cleaners to deal with water spills. However, you should know that not all steam cleaners are compatible with hardwood floors. Neglecting to check compatibility could cause more harm than harm to your soil. Also, no matter the nature of a stain, never use damp cloths for cleaning. Even slightly damp mops are a no-no, especially for hardwood floors that are sealed and covered with wax.
