Autumn Fashion Trend - Take Your Jacket For Shrinkage

Autumn and winter may have already brought out long coats and trenches, but not this year. One of the most sought after pieces for the upcoming season will be the shrunken jacket, in a variety of styles. The difference between these new smaller versions of your traditional fall and winter favorites lies in their length. the cuts are the same as traditional coats, but they strike slightly above the waist and are often tied or buttoned under the chest. The beauty of these new pieces lies in the fact that they cover the coldest months without sacrificing sexiness or femininity.

The perfect jacket is one of the most important elements of your wardrobe, and with so many shapes and materials available this fall, choosing only one would be a crime. The ever present denim jacket is back with a new revenge. Instead of last season's washes or the abundance of previous years, this season's denim jacket is soft, body-conscious and more feminine than the traditional denim jacket. Corduroy and leather are back, shortened and ready to be worn over anything from your favorite dress to distressed jeans.

A new version of an old favorite is sure, but enjoy the new fabrics and amazing styles of the end of the year. Brocade is big this season and some of the most sought after new jackets are made of rich and detailed design. Most of these boudoir-style brocade jackets are lined with rich velvet or lace piping and can be paired with tweed pants from your favorite jeans. Many of these new jackets are cut at the hip, but some are even higher: they are cut just below the chest (H & M). Made in rich new fabrics like tweed and velvet, these jackets have blended traditionally matrix fabric with a cut and grip that makes it both young and sexy. Even faux fur and metallic finishes adorn the latest trend (Allen B. by Allen Schwartz).

Short is not the only new addition to a cold weather favorite. The sleeves are being redone this season in a retro style. Traditional fabrics like houndstocks are used in a new way. The bell sleeves (think bell sleeves, cut below the elbow) combine a shortened length with a traditional fabric and a 70s style look (Banana Republic). You will also see a mini version of the military jacket this season; a cut, a feminine look for the long and heavy style, adorned with brass buttons and zippers (Bebe).
