The pros and cons of solar energy

Solar energy is one of the best forms of renewable energy. But why are we not counting so much on other countries? The answer is simply that there are advantages and disadvantages to using this form of alternative energy.

The advantages of using solar energy are that  the system   is easy to install, that once installed, it does not involve any energy cost, no emission such as air pollutants or greenhouse gases and the sun being widely available.

A solar energy system consists of solar panels, inverter, battery, charge controller, cables and support structure. To produce one kilowatt of electricity, you will need 10 to 12 solar panels covering 100 square feet. If you are worried that this will damage your roof, do not do it because it is made of lightweight materials.

When you call a contractor, the installation takes about a day or two and costs about $ 10,000. Few people will have enough money to pay for it to qualify for a home equity loan.

If you use a kilowatt of solar energy, you can save 170 lbs. burned coal, about 300 lbs of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere or 105 gallons of water that most homeowners consume each month.

On the other hand, solar cells are expensive, the rays can only be collected during the day, the weather and the place where you are going to play a role in the amount of sunlight that you can get and you will need to a large area to collect energy.

But some experts believe that the price of these cells and its ability to collect energy will improve in the future.

Currently, one kilowatt of solar power can produce only 1,600 kilowatt hours per year in a sunny climate. This means that you will receive 5.5 hours of electricity a day. If you produce about 750 kilowatts, you will only get 2.5 hours of power a day.

Solar panels are available in different colors and are generally guaranteed 5 years. Since manufacturers are aware that solar power can only work when the sun is up, they have installed batteries to allow you to get more than 5 hours of power, even in cloudy weather. Indeed, batteries are designed to absorb, isolate, transmit and reflect the sun's rays.

But solar energy can be applied to other things and not just to power our homes. It can be used to power small devices, such as calculators, to larger objects such as planes, satellites and cars. Since they are easy to maintain, you do not have to worry about anything.

Now that you know the advantages and disadvantages of solar energy, the question remains whether people should enter or not. If you look at it, the answer is certainly yes because it is a renewable energy source that does not harm the environment. It will also significantly reduce our need for oil, which has become a hot topic, especially when the price per barrel exceeded one hundred dollars earlier this year.
