The faux-stencil can create the illusion of wallpaper

The faux-stencil is an inexpensive way to add decorative details. The solution is to apply the embossing material evenly to the stencil, creating depth in thin layers. It is certainly true that stencils can awaken a wall or create an eye-catching detail on a cabinet door.

You will need the stencil, paint and a brush or sponge to apply the paint. You can purchase complete templates with instructions and registration marks or create your own. As with other decorative techniques, the simplest patterns are usually the most successful.

Once dry, stencil false-finished images can be sanded lightly to soften or age them. The quality of the supplies and the proper care of the stencils is the key. If you find a painting, drawing or photo with a great stencil potential, it is not difficult to use this image to generate a stencil.

Apply the stencil as a ceiling, panel, or skirting board, or as an integral design, such as wallpaper. If the stencil builds up too much with paint or you want to keep it for one more day, rub it with detergent and dry it on a paper towel.
