Improvement of the habitat of your attic

When I was growing up, we lived in a two-storey house that was small but very pretty and simple. We did not have attic or real basement. My parents and siblings have made no effort to invent scary stories about the attic or basement because we do not have any.

They told me all kinds of uncomfortable things about the delivered tool, but that's another story. I grew up laughing at friends who were afraid to go into their attics, and they laughed at me for the fear of the tool at the back of the house.

Now that I have grown up, have a family and a beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood, I have suddenly been afraid of the attic. There is something scary up there and I'm not talking about supernatural nature. I'm talking about attic renovation and the most scary part is the costs.

Fortunately, we are now in the information age where you can get a whole lot of information on the Web. Your friends probably have a lot to say on the subject. You will have to make extra efforts to reduce renovation costs.

Remember that renovating your attic is very important. The insulation up there helps keep your home warm. If the insulation has begun to deteriorate, the efficiency of the thermal insulation will change, which will require you to pay an extra electricity bill for the colder months. Not to mention that you are sacrificing the comfort of your family and even their health when you ignore the symptoms of a struggling attic insulation system.

Ok, continue with the show. When you start renovating your attic insulation, start with a thorough inspection of the area. You can minimize insulation costs if you really know how many additional layers of insulation are needed. Also try to look for quality insulation materials instead of packing the attic with cheap but low quality products. It is better to invest in a good brand that will last for years.

Batt, Blown and Rigged are the most common types of insulation. Blown insulation, also called bulk insulation, is the easiest to use and the least expensive of the three. The components of the blown insulators are generally chopped glass fibers, mineral fibers or wool fibers. This type of insulation is used on horizontal spaces.

Unlike blown insulation made from cut fibers, batt insulation is made from genuine fiberglass. Bats are easy  to install   because they come in rolls that, most of the time, fit snugly between the joints of the attic rafters. The good thing about mattresses is that they resist moisture. However, they do not resist water. They suffer significant damage when wet. The last type of attic insulation is the rigged type. You can buy this type of insulation in sheets of 2 feet by 8 feet.
